Rega Italian Crushed and Strained Passata Tomatoes is an uncooked tomato puree that has been strained of skins and seeds originating in Italy. You will notice some passatas are thicker (chunkier) while others can be quite smooth. Typically known as an uncooked sauce, there are a few rare instances the sauce has been cooked.
Tomato passata can be used in any recipe calling for tomatoes including sauce, soup, and stew. It’s fresh tomato flavour makes it the perfect pizza sauce.
